#5 Anti-Surveillance Tool

Description

For this week's stegnaography assignment, I chose to use the anaglyphic technique to provide a message that speaks for feminism. I chose to use Maya Angelou's quote, "Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women."

Design Process

I had a lot of fun working on this project. Especially in that I was able to express my interest and advocate for women as I believe that it is important for women to stand up for their power. I used anaglyph to share my idea. Choosing Angelou's quote, I wanted to use bold red, san-serif type to emphasize her words. For this design, I put two layers of messages in different colors, but also wanted it to make sense when combined together (at halfway point). I was inspired by posters/picket signs that people hold up at demos.

Reflection

This project was fun in that we were challenged to create a piece with lots of freedom in the look of the outcome. And as always, I find my skill with the tool most challenging, since I am still learning and figuring out the best way to convey my idea. One element that I'd like to incorporate to my piece is to have blue rectangle come down from the top, to add more layers to the text. I am guessing this will need position sensitive topic, to change the opacity of the text and placement of the color block.
