#10 Translation Device
Description
In this week's assignment, we used APIs to create a data translation device. I took random cat images and daily cat facts to create a 'cat a day' generator. Data feminism can show how challenges to male/female binary can help reflect on other hierarchial systems. More precisely speaking, data feminism is about much more than gender. It talks about power, those in power and those without, and about differentials of power that is to be challenged. I am a big supporter of animal rights, and always look out for feeds on the law/policy update of animals in Korea. Sadly, animals are much considered to be assets of people, so when they are abused by humans, the law doesn't do much for them. By sharing the daily cat infos, I hope that people can see animals to be more deserving of authority than what they are getting currently. Because we have created this society and animals to live in it, we need to have more responsibility than now.

Design Process
Instead of getting random cat facts and images separately, I felt that getting them simultaneously will enrich the experience. I definitely feel that seeing the adorable cat image with the information contextualizes the dataset, which makes the viewer have affection for the given facts. By forming a button to click and get new datasets, there's an element of surprise that I like and look forward to.
